Everyone in tech / Linux-land has heard of RedHat.  Like IBM of olden days.

Search a job board for the term, I imagine there's a decent amount of hits.

I *think* I've heard of LPI before, but... who are they? What does LPI 
mean? (Linux Professionals Institute, I think.)

And this LPI requires Windows or Mac for taking their tests - Linux 
isn't even supported?!?  Credibility, gone.

On the other hand, their course material might be top-notch and be the 
best learning platform in existence, I don't know. Problem is, likely 
neither do the people doing hiring.


Linux Foundation has better name recognition, though I found their Linux 
Network Admin course disappointing.

Yeah, brand recognition is a thing.

And a lot of Big Corps use it, and even those that don't, recognize it.
