[BCLUG] New and Confused older user

Thank your for your help and suggestions. I found the redirect. It's at 
the top of the wp-login.php file and is aimed at the SERVER to try and 
force an "https" login. I saw that I needed to comment it out, but then 
had to relearn how to change the ownership of the file. This is 
obviously going to take a while, but I'm on the right track, I think.
