I will just add that the technical portion of the presentation
will begin at _7pm_ (PDT = UTC-7), so, yay, no sodding about with GNU
date's time zone conversion functions[1] will be required for BC
residents.  ;->

As the venue is in a business-district restaurant (Henry's Hunan
Restaurant) in San Francisco that only recently has started
approximating normal business hours, Michael's presentation will
doubtless have to wind up about 8pm, the restaurant's closing time.

(Attendees are invited to gather circa 6pm for socialising and ordering
dinner. Someone might open a connection to Jitsi Meet before 7pm, but
I would guess not.)

(The cheeky .signature block on that page, along with the entire section
about GNU date, is my addition.)
